How To Make Awesome Vacuum Pot Coffee Without A Vacuum Pot*

  1. Boil water.
  2. grind coffee -- two grinders full for three cups should do it.
  3. when water boils take off of heat
  4. pour a little water in 32oz mason jar and pour out (to warm jar)
  5. put coffee in jar
  6. put one tablespoon sugar (or one washed eggshell) in jar
  7. pour water in jar to just over three-fourths full
  8. stir to wet coffee and dissolve sugar
  9. tighten lid with towel over jar and oven mitt on
  10. gently shake
  11. GENTLY AND QUICKLY OPEN JAR JUST A LITTLE -- HOT LIQUID WILL BE FORCIBLY EXPELLED which is why the towel and oven mitt
  12. tighten lid
  13. GENTLY AND QUICKLY OPEN JAR JUST A LITTLE -- HOT LIQUID WILL BE FORCIBLY EXPELLED
  14. tighten lid
  15. one more time GENTLY AND QUICKLY OPEN JAR JUST A LITTLE - no more should be expelled
  16. tighten lid well
  17. put jar in bowl of cold tap water (NO ICE) -- roll around for three minutes or until it begins to 'boil' in the jar, whichever is first
  18. take jar out
  19. open carefully -- may be difficult -- you may need a ri\ubber glove and  strength.  a thin knife up under lid carefully will break seal, as will hot water on lid, or, worst care, a pinhole in lid.
  20. AWESOME COFFEE. strain and enjoy.  may need to be heated slightly.  excellent iced.
