- Boil water.
- grind coffee -- two grinders full for three cups should do it.
- when water boils take off of heat
- pour a little water in 32oz mason jar and pour out (to warm jar)
- put coffee in jar
- put one tablespoon sugar (or one washed eggshell) in jar
- pour water in jar to just over three-fourths full
- stir to wet coffee and dissolve sugar
- tighten lid with towel over jar and oven mitt on
- gently shake
- GENTLY AND QUICKLY OPEN JAR JUST A LITTLE -- HOT LIQUID WILL BE FORCIBLY EXPELLED which is why the towel and oven mitt
- tighten lid
- GENTLY AND QUICKLY OPEN JAR JUST A LITTLE -- HOT LIQUID WILL BE FORCIBLY EXPELLED
- tighten lid
- one more time GENTLY AND QUICKLY OPEN JAR JUST A LITTLE - no more should be expelled
- tighten lid well
- put jar in bowl of cold tap water (NO ICE) -- roll around for three minutes or until it begins to 'boil' in the jar, whichever is first
- take jar out
- open carefully -- may be difficult -- you may need a ri\ubber glove and strength. a thin knife up under lid carefully will break seal, as will hot water on lid, or, worst care, a pinhole in lid.
- AWESOME COFFEE. strain and enjoy. may need to be heated slightly. excellent iced.
